Well be ringing around locally (Liverpool) for a decent price for frame only and F&F, got a few good prices and especially from 2 places that when i went to look at something they had in i was a happy bunny with the way they looked. Only issue is they don’t clean them for you got to do it yourself so anyone know anywhere I can get frame cleaned or what’s the best way to DIY it, never cleaned a frame off myself before always sent away for full services but cheapest quote I had for someone to do the lot is £90+ as oppose to £30 for the DIY option
 
Nitro mors,brush it on and leave it 15mins,scrape off whats loose then re apply another coat and leave another 15mins,when youre happy that all the paint is gone use hot soapy water and gently go over it all with a scotchbrite pad,dry it off to make sure all the waters gone after.thats how i did the Funk frame,came out really well. :wink:
 
Youll probably find that the first coat of nitro mors will take off all the laquer and decals first,then the second will shift the paint,you may need to put more than 2 lots on but at a tenner a bottle its a darn sight cheaper than the £90 for them to do it.

So a £9 bottle of Nitro Mors will save me around £60 i like them figures :P
 
yep,it shifted the grey powdercoating on the Funk really easy,wear gloves and goggles if you got them,it can splash if your slapping it on with a brush :wink:
 
Success with Nitromors depends massively on the quality of the paint. I remember using it on an 89 Pine mountain (I know I know) and it was a pig to do. So much so I've never done it again.

...and if you don't have gloves & goggles buy them - It burns like hell!
 
Gloves i got Goggles i got Nitro Mors i aint got got a place to call on monday that i been told may clean it for a reasonable cost so holding off on the strip but is the option if price is silly
