19" Hei Hei frame , ships worldwide........

The listing is incorrect - it isn't a 2000 frame, it's a 1997 or earlier, as it has down tube cable routing for the rear mech. And I don't believe Kona have ever coated titanium frames in the way claimed by the seller. Even if they had, they wouldn't have mixed together a 1998 Hei Hei decal with a 2005 Kona decal off a Dew and 1997 Hei Hei head tube/seat tube decals.

Given that it's such a lash-up, the claim "This is the finest Kona Hei Hei frame you'll find on EBAY, PERIOD." is so false that eBay should surely cancel the auction.
 
I admit the Kona 'town bike' decal threw me a little, but I have seen Hei Hei frames with the bare ti / paint finish before. I have actually bought from this seller before, a minty Kevlar shouldered Flite for $20!, didn't have any problems, I think a lot of his negative FB stems from people not reading his descriptions properly, although I won't argue he is well of the mark on this one!

I wonder if it's been partially powder-coated? The "vinyl" extends over some of the frame welds - suggesting poweder coat to me, rather than just stickers.

And yeah, it's earlier than he says. And all the stickers are either wrong for the year or just in the wrong place on the frame.

But still a Hei Hei :D
 
I got my Hei Hei from this seller, I think it's at least the 3rd or 4th Hei Hei or Kahuna he's sold, he's very good to deal with, spoke with him on the phone, he was patient with payment and quick with posting.

Ok not an entirely accurate advert but still a Hei Hei and i think it looks really cool.
 
there are plenty of painted Ti frames around. first time i read that Ti cannot be painted. that's BS.

As indeed I think this is (factory) paint on the front of a 99 King Kahuna, but I don't believe that Kona ever went in for painting or covering titanium in the way that the seller claims.

I acknowledge that fellow members have had positive experience of the seller, but the description is false and he has neither replied to the message I sent him pointing out the errors nor changed the listing, and I don't think that is a good sign.

As for the frame being a nice frame, some of the welds have been covered over for some reason and the seller's claim that the factory did it appears to be untrue, so draw your own conclusions.
