yup, had a cracking time, bit ruddy cold though & to be honest I spent most of my time gassing & not riding
Great spot for a meet in the warmer evenings with a bbq * a cool stubby

Only two bail outs,
Velo got all excited and went over the bars, bending them in the process, and JimiHendrix got stuck in a rut while decending and bailed, scratched his face and bled profuseley, closer inspection showed a wee cut to his chops, the shale being so sharp it cut him, making it look worse than it really was ( made him look well tough though!!)

Fantastic day, spent most of it on Ecks bike though , the cut on the face is just a scratch, no bother.
Will be handy for Glasgow next Saturday anyway, wont get any hassle from anyone when one of our group looks like he's been chibbed
BBQ next year would be a great idea

Most predictable crash was jimi's, observed by Rumble and me from the top of the bing opposite, we were amazed he got as far as he did on his Klunker :shock:

I'm claiming most spectacular crash Suspension bottomed out at the bottom of a bank then hit a lip throwing bike up just as all my weight went forward. couldn't control it as bike and I bounced across ground throwing me over left of bars which hit the deck and bent then pin wheeled over and landed on top of me, WIPEOUT !!!!!!!!!!!!

ZZ spent most of the time taking photos or stealing folks bikes I think he wants one of these DH behemoths based on the stupid grin plastered over his face.

Life on Mars! What a crazy landscape - as has been suggested, a summer BBQ there would be cracking. Need to go canny wi' the beers though

Using my dodgy brakes as an excuse, I cadged Big Eck and Enid's bikes as often as I could. Eck's beast felt totally alien at first, but it began to come together and make sense, especially after a couple of go's on Enid's 'Dale, which I think strike's a good middle ground between trad XC and full on 'motorbike without an engine'. I probably just have to admit I'm not man enough for the beast, although by the end I was feeling a lot more comfortable on it - magic carpet ride. The Cannondale felt like a better fit for me though.

Had a visit from a couple of Enduro boys, and then DaveDH and mountain board chums showed up to show us all how to get some real air. Mentalists! Honourary mention to the BMX kids, absolutely fearless.

Good to meet rumble (and sorry, the only pic I got of a bike getting some air was you, but all I got were the wheels ), and nutter of the day was Jimi trying that bit of downhill up on the big bings on the bomber. Going by the skidmarks (on the ground, steady!) crash of the day was probably still velo though.

Oh aye, Alec - guess who forgot to give you the Hayes Nine back Want me to bring it through for you to Glesga next week?

Is it just me or does my Giant look as wee as a BMX beneath me :shock:

Now that actually looks quite appealing in a :shock: kind of a way..

Snow on the high hills here today and blisteringly cold on the hands

looks brilliant, the scale of the place is unreal. Jimbo looks the mostest cool looks like he's rippin the clunker around.

That big hill looks well scary, looks we need a BingBQ for sure. I'll need to find a bike to suit though, no way I'm putting my precious down that!
