Got a proper ride planned for tomorrow, so decided to have a gentle rideout on the Saracen today.

Changed the original saddle for something a little more comfortable, popped some SPD's on and had a blast on some local footpaths and zapped round the woods.

The verdict?

Well, it can best be described as fun! A real upright position, but supprisingly easy to live with. The handling doesnt compare to my other bikes, quite slow in comparrison, but enjoyable. I wouldnt use this as a regular bike, however for slow summer rides this is a cracker.

hahaha the 2nd picture is a funny one, there you are looking quite macho, and there is this old bike. cant beat such a blast from the past btw.

Nice to see it being used! When i saw that, I thought it looked sad, all those years and never being ridden. Love the look from the rear, quite clean with the under mounted u-brake.

The slow handling was to be expected really, but as you say, perfect for those lazy summer rides.

The 2nd to last picture is quite a good'un for the P.O.T.M

Cheers. Couldnt own a bike and never ride it, but having said that I'll keep this one for 'best'

I did think that when I pulled it off the camera, sun beginning to dip causing long shadows in the mid September evening. Hmm, proper End of Summer photo.....

May have to rethink my entry :P
