Moulton ATB Tandem ?

I found a these pictures on another (non-bike) site that I frequent.

It appears to be a Moulton ATB that converts into a tandem when required.

Is this a factory offer or an aftermarket conversion?

Love it, although my first response was to be impressed that you drive a limo...

I have since looked and read. Can't quite see how/where it assembles.

They were never a factory option. Various custom builders have done Moulton tandem conversions over the years (Doug Pinkerton springs to mind) usually working from an ATB or the more common (Pashley-built) APB model:

Doctor Moulton officially disapproves.

I think a separable/convertable solo/tandem is a great idea, not least because full-sized tandems are a real bitch to store and transport. A Moulton conversion is one way to do it. Another is an S&S coupled tandem, triplet, or quad from the likes of Co-Motion in the USA:

Brillian, cheers for that link :)

Would love a tandem for holidays with my better half but there's no way of squeezing one in the flat (else I'd be all over the Fisher for sale on here at the moment). But this...

Now I fear money will be the issue instead

Be easy if I could just point...

How's this:

The solo uses the rear (stoker's) seat tube and the front half of the front triangle

So I've scrubbed out the bit I think comes out...

I'll stopnow as I think I'm just enjoying my new gadget...

Thats what I thought but the remaing front lower brace just above the cables doesnt seem to engafe abywher but I guess there must be a fitting on the front of seat tube?
