This bike has been on the NYC CL for a number of months, as a 87 Ritchey Commando.
It turned out not to be, at least I don't think it is since from what I've read, commandos were fillet brazed by Tom Ritchey. It has the fillet brazed seatpost cluster/seat stay, but the rest is tig welded. It has a diacompe u-brake in the rear, and the rest of the parts are a totally mix-bag of mostly crap. Something is up with one of the water bottle bolts on the down tube. The Ritchey sticker on the bottom of the seat tube states Made by Ritchey Mountain Bikes.
I've seen the bike in person, and while not being one of the worst, it's far from pristine as the ad makes it sound. It looks to be a painted ascent/aspen, or possibly Ultra...but I didn't get the serial number, so I'm not sure.
Just wanted to give a heads up to any RB members/lurkers who might be interested. The seller is a bike guy but a bit flakey...so be at your best patience if attempting to deal with him.
