Romax#381 BM

Mr.Toad

Senior Retro Guru
Finally posting my long term project, much belated I know.

"381 is an 18.5" Romax made for Brent Martin; one of the first 3 Tig welded frames I made…"

For those from the great white (and wet) north Brent Martin needs little introduction. For the others I have included a little background information.

Progress to be posted, stay tuned.

Is it some sort of Brodie hunt season? So many of them at the moment which is excellent!

Couldn't agree more ^^^^^

there's only so many Kliens with Marshmallow or Jaffa cake paint jobs a man can take  good to see a few other makes coming into the affray

Is it the Retro Roy affect I wonder? Perhaps the connections being made in Canada are uncovering these gems. Who knows - in fact who cares, keep them coming!

Re:

I'm really surprised how many are popping up as well, but i'm happy to welcome them all!

A couple more pics.

Pump mount is a nice touch and the new color. Paul thought he remembered this frame being a dark metallic, the repaint is more of a silver with some nice sparkly bits. I really like it, thanks JH!

Yes, yes, and already done!

So my dream fork for this build would be of course a U-braked curved Gator Blade, second choice....a curved nickle plated, fillet brazed, U-braked Bontrager! Expensive, but I was a good Husband last year.

I brought these forks over to a local frame builder who worked at Bontrager when these forks were made in 1986. He looked them over and deemed them to be straight, sound and ready to roll.
