Hi guys
i thought you might like to cast an eye over my first retro bike project a Univega alpine 802 1995 ish give or take. I have just finished sorting it and looking forward to a proper ride tomorrow morning. What a great feeling :D i will post a spec when i have more time, any comments would be gratefully received

Nothing nicer than getting your first bike together, hope you have a blast and a crackin looking machine it is too, very underratted make univega 8)
 
Thanks for the comments guys, i have now ridden it and although the first ride turned in to more of a shakedown test the second yesterday was a real blast.it is a completely different ride to my whyte e120 which you would expect. but the single speed doesn’t seem to hamper my riding that much and i can feel already it’s doing me some good, the lack of suspension is a little harder on the body, but not as bigger handicap as i first thought .
A few things to change as and when I can, will be fit some bar ends to assist the climbing
Change the pedals for something smaller and lighter
A lighter seat post
Experiment with the tyre pressures.
And maybe see how I get on with the dmr tensioner as it appears to be slightly difficult to remove the rear wheel

Not sure on weight not measured it yet but feels light and fast
