beautiful wheelset composed by:
-Campagnolo Atlanta 96 rims, 28h, clincher
-Campagnolo Athena hubs, 100mm -130mm spacing, 8 speed
-DT double butted spokes
-8 speed Campagnolo cassette I don't know maybe Record
The set is from the mid 90’s, components all from the same period (C-Record era and one of the last years).
This wheels are in excellent condition, I used them maybe for 150 miles and the previous and first owner hasn’t used them much either, in fact they have been stored away for loong time and so well preserved. Quite unusual to find them in this shape!
Nice build: front wheel radially laced, rear is crossed on drive side, radial on other side.
The wheels are in superb condition, very little brake wear on the rims, is often noticeable the original brake surface, no scratches, rare marks barely noticeable that are shown in pics, all stickers in right place.
The rear hub has been adjusted and 2 bearings replaced one week ago, the front one runs smoothly.
The Campagnolo 8 speed cassette is in very good condition, I don’t know if Record, people more knowable may know this.
Giving their age they are not perfectly true, they are acceptably untrue with a 1mm or less of clearance, they would benefit a spoke tensioning job though.
The rear hub has a Tacx skewer, the front has the original Campagnolo. This is the only missing part but you can find it if you really wish.
They look great, and have a full life ahead.
