Turns out that this is neither a grip lock, or a standard 1 1/8 headset top race cover. It's a top cover from a devolution headset as the cap is far too wide in diameter to fit a standard 1 1/8 bearing cup. Also, if it was a grip lock, it would have the split ring on the inside which it doesn't.
Not advised seller of the latter, as not fussed, but the important fact for me was that this part fitted a 1 1/8 chris king headset (that was the title and description after all), but it doesn't. After reporting this to the seller, providing pictures and digital measurements of parts from my own collection of 1 inch and 1 1/8 chris king headsets, to be told that my 1 1/8 headset was a 1 inch (despite picturing the same part from a 1 inch headset next to a 1 1/8 and the part from this sale in the same photp) was mildly annoying, especially as previous emails about the fact it was from a devolution headset were replied to, but ignored this fact.
I don't expect to get anything out of the seller in terms of recompense as they seem to be upset after being told they were talking rubbish, claiming my 1 1/8 headset was in fact 1 inch, so just posting my experience on here in relation to this sale.

You only offered a refund after I'd stated I didn't want one. I'd be happy to post up every email I sent you on this thread to see where my manners could be questioned. The only thing I said was that you were talking rubbish after you tried to tell me my 1 1/8 headset was a 1 inch one like this:

I see you have updated the original advert so that it now states what should have been there in the original advert, that it is for a devolution headset, and added the link to the chris king fit guide I emailed you in my attempts to prove you had sold me a devolution headset part and not a 1 1/8 headset part as the original advert stated.
