so a customer came in with this bike, a Jean de Gribaldy bike, it's apparently a Gazelle built frame, it has mostly period Record on it, from about 1969.

he showed me the folder that came with the bike showing the original team photo with the team and bikes.

so does anybody know anything about this bike? just curious really

:)

Re:

My go-to trade-team archive has a list of riders for this team that broadly overlaps with that at Excel's link, except that it includes for 1968 a certain Daniel Salmon, who is I guess the same fella who about a decade later was building the frame of LGF's latest posted road bike acquisition, ? Judging from their palmares, the team were pretty active around the Brittany area, so I speculate that they were possibly based there?

I guess that this De Gribaldy, if it was found this side of the channel, could be one of Derek Harrison's ex-team bikes- I can't see any particular reason why it wouldn't be, although it might be a little on the large side. It does seem to be the same colour as the Frimatic jersey, but half of these old teams seem to have been pretty relaxed about colour co-ordination of frame with jersey, so that is by no means a clincher..
