ok question 1

my old wheel and free hub is older style shimano than new hub on further research via sheldon brown site i think original is uniglide and newer is hyperglide

when fitting the new cassette there is a big gap between last gear and lock ring.
newer hub may be 8-9 speed hyperglide hub and my cassette is 7 speed HG20

it fits old hub but that wheelrim is very buckled and rusted spindles so got new rim to use in its place.
they measure differently too!

is there a spacer ring i need or do i/ can i exchange freehub? or need new hub?

2nd question

my seatpost had been lowered by my son and on removal scored v shaped matrks very badly and ? needs replaced

on measuring the post it measure 26.0 externaly but the int diam of seat tube measure 25.8

what size post do i need

its for my 1990 marin BV
