Will this work on a Tripple Chainset?

Seems like a bargain of a chainring. I have Sugino 900. Will it work without ramps and pins?

Woah there kids… I used to run chainsets similar to this BITD, with 'plain' chainrings, i.e. no ramps or pins. Both friction thumbshifters and SunTour X-Press indexed front shifters worked without fault.

Now, that may perhaps be down to the tooth profile as much as anything, or old school front mech design, but I firmly maintain that you don't need ramps or pins to get good front shifting.

Well if you want to do three pedal revolutions every time you upshift before anything happens, sure.
50T chainring may have had something to do with it, still, it's not something I'd like to repeat.
