Which manufacturers made the biggest frames?

Wasn't there an article waaaaayyy back in the early days of MBUK about an American "team" of tall riders - something like "team gorilla's" - where you couldn't join unless your head tube was as long as your fork leg?
Seem to recall a lot of them rode - and broke - Diamond Back's; from the era where they had the blown smoke finish (probably around '86/'87?)

And yes, that is an original Hope cable disk brake. It died on this very weekend (a 'summer' Polaris in N Yorkshire) when it overheated on a long descent and never worked quite the same afterwards.
This is also the brake that caused the original Rock Shox to part company with the bottom 6 inches of (brake side) slider. Face plant anyone? :shock:

They make small and very huge steel frame…
They're not that big.
The 24" is only 22" c to c and the top tube's only 23.62".
Nowadays, just about everything over a med or lge has got a 25" top tube.
