What glue to use for grips?

I was a dedicated hairsprayer until I discovered the water method.

Boil the kettle. Fill mug with hot water. Place grip in mug, leave for a few seconds. Remove. Slides on a treat - mind your fingers, though.

And no "will it, won't it be a twisty grip"

Friend of mine recomends good old fashioned spit on the bars before putting the grips on - stays moist to position grips then dries to leave them firm.

I've done this a couple of times now and it does seem to work!

Hairspray all the way. When I was a kid, my mum always used to wonder why her 14 year old son went into the garden shed with hairspray. Bike smells like a hair salon afterwards too!!!...

i used to use hairspray but am now a wd40 convert.

i have never had good results with boiling water though - grips have always moved afterwards

+1

Always worked a treat for me and the grips never slip once they're on.
Plus you've always got it handy when you're in the shed
