I had one shimano chain, a nice shiny silver one that looked good, but it did'nt last, plus I was not happy about the special pin that was required for rejoining the chain. I have had Sedis , tayo and KMC chains, these I have had no problems with aside from normal wear. I currently have a KMC chain, bought because it was the cheapest I could find on ebay, something like six quid including postage, a deal I think. Six quid, is about half what I used to pay BITD. The best thing that I think ever became available, is the lost link things that enabled the breaking and rejoining of a chain without tools, that was a real saviour.
