Wanted 1995 Kona Cinder Cone

Re:

Well, I don't know anything about Ballistic so can't say much about the fork your running, you'd best seek advice regarding that from someone more knowledgable.
Regarding the Koa, just looking at the height of the seat tells me your probably on the right size and anything smaller may be too small. The 120mm stem your running (which I believe is shorter than what Kona offered for that size frame) and the proper P2 should give you decent, probably fairly quick handling. You could always try a smaller frame but I reckon you may feel a bit cramped. Personally I prefer a smaller frame though, so who knows, maybe it's worth a try.

Re:

Thanks for taking the time to reply, I appreciate your opinion

There probably isn't a great deal of difference between my 2 bikes but the fact that I'm bored of the ballistic makes me want it to be too small !

Re:

Hi,
It's my first post on here, but the missus has a Cinder Cone in near perfect condition.

It's grey in colour, but I changed (and sold) the suspension forks ages ago because they were as springy as (my apologies).

It's running all original parts (apart from forks) and its only done about 100 mostly dry miles. I have it in the attic under cover.

If you're interested, I'll take some pics of it tomorrow and post them. I'm sorry, but I can't do it tonight as I'm busy :(

Thanks,

Scott

Re:

I've got an 18" 1995 kona cinder cone frame/bike that I am looking to offload.
I put it on here a while ago as a frameset with z2's and chris king headset but there was no interest (I probably overpriced it a bit tbh!)
So then I decided I would try building it back to its original spec.
It is built and rideable just not quite original spec cos I can't find any P2's in the right colour and length, so its got an aheadset and aheadstem with quadra 21R's at the moment.
The original bits it has got though are:
Sugino chainset, equilibrium saddle (which has definitely seen better days) Race Light seatpost and bars, Gripshift SRT600, High Command brake levers (with the drill holes for the Dewey bar end things to screw into), Ritchey Logic brakes, LX and XT mechs, Kona blackwall tyres
Will get some pics up at the weekend if anybody's interested?

Re:

Thanks for the offer. I have spent quite a while looking up the geometry and frame dimensions and think the 18" is just going to be too small.

It's really frustrating that i have now been offered 2 frames that are exactly what I'm looking for just in the wrong size !

I do like looking at the 1995 cinder cone so uploading pictures is good with me :D

Regards

Billy

Re:

Sorry All, I've been SO busy since my last post. :(

Here's the pics of my Cinder Cone. it's had about 100 miles use and most of that has been abroad on tarmac (hence the slicks). No seatpin or saddle I'm afraid. Not original forks. Everything else is original.

PM me if interested.

Thanks ;)
