Vitus 787 cyclocross resto-mod

Retro Newbie
Thought you my like to see my Vitus 787 cyclocross, which I purchased from a Retrobike member. I substantially changed to components on the bike, partly to make it work as a gravel/cyclocross bike in southern Louisiana (that's the Mississippi river in the background), and partly to complement the awesome violet anodizing on the tubes. Some highlights:
* Paul Touring Cantilever brakes (violet)
* White industries crank, with narrow wide chainring (violet extractor)
* Mavic 801 derailleur. I think it complements the bike very nicely.
* Wheels: Pacenti Forza classico.
* Rear hub: Shimano 105, 126mm hub with Hyperglide compatible cassette. The cassette is a 10 speed Shimano, with 1 gear removed.
I was concerned about poor shifting performance using the Mavic 801 to shift a "10-speed" cassette, but it works fine for my purposes. I've really been enjoying the bike. It's very light, very comfortable, and the limited gearing is sufficient in a region with very few hills. My only complaint is that the tight clearances for 33mm tires mean that the frame can get clogged with mud quite easily. Vitus 787 Cyclocross.jpg
