my nice NOS red USE seatpost has arrived , so i've was just checking the diameter prior to getting the shim (seller told me it was 25.4), but it measures 25.1 :?
so is this actually a 25mm (current sale size) within in tolerance, and the seller was wrong - or is this actually a 25.4 within tolerance?
help please as i'm not sure what size shim to get....!!!
i was always curious about this with my use posts but have always bought 25mm shims off chain reaction both metal and thermoplastic and never had a problem.
I've spoken to a very helpful lady at USE called Katie Thomas , and apparently the old rigid USE posts were only made in 25.0 and 27.2 sizes (just like nowadays, i think).
so now that question is answered I'm sure we'll sleep better at night...
(goes looking for another exciting and technically troubling quandary)
