Trek 970 Frame

Any thoughts on this frame? I have been looking for a 990, but I believe this is the same frame. Price is a bit steep but I don’t think the dings are anything other than cosmetic. Any thoughts or guidance gratefully received!

Could be the same frame as the 990.
I luckily recently picked a good condition 1990 970 from the Reading Bicycle Kitchen for £60!
Mine has a different Trek seatclamp casting and made from Trùe Temper AT tubing.

What a bargain. Beautiful details and classic steel. 1 & 1/8 forks too, so dead easy to find a nice replacement if you wanted to lose the suspension.
