I´ve been fortunate to have a few Sancinetos so far, but when this frame and fork came up for sale in a Facebook group, I was lucky to first to say I would buy it (rule of the group, so no one use messenger to overbid each other) The frameset lookede a little dirty with some chips, but no dings so far as could see, and I knew I could polish the paint up to a good shine again.

What I thought was pitting in the Crome on the fork, was flaked off instead.
I desided to build it up, Neoretro style with Sram Force 22, Deda Seatpost and handlebar, 3T stem, FSA Duron X 1 headset, A wheelset I built some years ago (Carbon tub rims on Yuniper hubs) And to finish it of, a Fi:zik Arione K:1 Carbon seat, that I love.

How much did the frame cost? From what i've been reading about different types of tubing, Columbus MAX is the best model steel tubing available, prior to aluminium. I'm curious.

It was cheap 134£ or 161€ Columbus MAX is thinner in wall thickness than SLX and lighter, top tube is 07-04-07mm, and a tubeset without lugs weighs 1945g

What an utter bargain! Lovely looking frame. I’ve always liked those MAX tube shapes. They did a Mini Max tube set too, curious about that one.

That is lovely, and a real bargain compared to what I paid for mine :D

As you say you have a few Sancinetos you know just how good a ride they are. I hope you get many years and many miles (or KMs ) of fun out of it.

I saw this one for sale (DBA I think), but had too much on my plate at the time, and it looked like it would turn out much worse than this!

I have had a couple of Sancinetos (Columbus Neuron) and they are so well-made - I'd put them in a class above Pinarello/Colnago, for build quality.
