Reusing the headset with new balls. Seems okay even if lock nut is a bit scabby

Looking good! Frame looks in amazing condition.

Walton Street Cycles is still going - it should be in a city like Oxford mind! Used to pop in from time to time when I lived there. Too trendy these days for modern Saracens but I'm sure they'd snap the hands off this

Thanks mate. Hope it turns out as nice as one of yours!

Next up is to clean the parts, and I think with Deore, it should be doable.

One of the thumbies has had it, but I have a spare.

Wheels will take some work and I might have to try and go seven speed, possibly

The saddle is a worry. Don't suppose you have a nice one knocking about in your Saracen stash somewhere. This one has a big rip in in, so might have to recover if I can't find one

Enjoying though.

Something rather lovely about yellow frames - that has polished up a treat Nick :)

Really sorry dude I don't have a spare. Saracen saddles are literally impossible to find unless they come on the bike. Even the one on the 1990 Tufftrax is a bit ripped. The one on the 89 is borderline binnable. On my 89 Kili I've ended up using a Flite and then a Turbo.

I think a Turbo or perhaps even a Rolls would go nicely on this one. £20 on eBay should see you right. Or even a tenner for a Turbo with patina.

I did have all the parts from an 87 Kili but I sold them to Mark (Makster). Although from memory that didn't include the saddle. Sadly it had been replaced by something wide and comfy. Straight in the bin.

Re:

Actually dude I can swap the one on my 1990 Tufftrax for a Turbo or Rolls if you fancy? My build is hardly period correct! PM me if you are interested.
