Britain’s biggest retailer has launched a legal action against Universal Cycles amid claims that a member of the supermarket chain’s finance team mistakenly paid £984,000 for six bicycles.

Tesco claims it should have paid £984 for the Muddy Fox Suspension Bikes and is seeking restitution of the overpaid monies, according to a legal action filed at the High Court.

One has to be amused by the fact that at the bottom of it, Universal have well and truly stiffed Tesco in the first place by getting them to fork out £984 for half a dozen Muddy Fox full suspension bikes. No self respecting bike shop would dream of paying anywhere near that much for bikes of that standard. Mind you no self respecting bikeshop would dream of having them for sale at all.
