Stuck quill stem - freed thanks to grilla

You have got a handlebar in the stem with which to apply leverage......

One stuck stem came free for me with the application of WD40, front wheel in the forks held between my thighs and the handlebar turned (of course with the stem bolt and wedge removed.)

Well Grilla you are the man. I resorted to the described method using a vice and a length of wood, and with a loud crack the stem moved, gave it a few side to sides, put the wheel on flipped it over and out it came.

I thought it may cause some damage to the stem, but no everything was fine.

This is now the official method of removing a stuck stem. Many thanks to everyone for your constructive suggestions.
