even wit cable off it wnt sit on the bottom cog it just trys to jump to 2nd no matter what

how weird is that :shock: .... someone else (unless it was you doing some cross forum posting) had this exact problem with the X9 mech.

Seems there is a batch of faulty mechs so return it to shop.

try itv without the chain as stiff or bent links cause a lot of headaches

I am sure I have heard similar stories about faulty X9 rear mechs .
