Squeaky bum time - sts rear end creaking

While awaiting time and money to have a trunnion made to fit a fox shock, I decided to fit a nos RS super deluxe to replace the less adjustable coupe deluxe shock (nothing wrong with it, just could). Since doing this, the rear end creaks when compressed, so wondering why? Shock is nos, as are bushings and spacers, the only difference I can see is that the new shock has o-rings between the bushing/spacer arrangement. Would this be the cause of the creak and should I just remove them?

Try pouring water or a small amount of oil onto things until it stops.
That's the way I fund out my stem bolts were making a terrible noise!

I've tried oil, well gt85 and it still squeaks. It's not the shock itself, this is working find and silently, and as this noise wasn't present with the old shock, I must assume it is the rubber o-ring end rather that the top/trunnion and travel chip end.

Anyone else got thoughts on the need for the o-rings and if they are the likely culprits?
