It turns out to lovely people at Mercian partake in the CycleScheme and never being one to turn down a bargain I'm going to take advantage and order a brand new King of Mercia!
This means I need to make some room ready for the big build and my old King of Mercia frameneeds to go.
I bought this on eBay last year to build up into a fair weather tourer, but as the first born arrived around the same time I have never had the time to get it built.
The frame is 24" and built out of 531 Competition. It has braze ons for mudguards, a rack on the rear and cantilever brakes. It does not have down tube shifter braze ons. I believe it was built in 1993 and have the original order documentation somewhere (I'll try and dig it out too).
It's in a fantastic green / blue colour with white head tube, band on the seat tube and lug lining. There is not any rust on the frame (that I am aware of, but will double check to be sure), but there are plenty of chips and scratches on the frame. You could choose to use as it and it still looks great, but my plan was to have this refinished.
I'll add some pictures tonight or tomorrow once I have had a chance to take it down from its perch hanging from my garage roof!
This is a great frame and will make a beautiful bike. Having two (and a 1960's one which is also hanging up awaiting a refurb) just seems a bit greedy.
£300 posted to the UK. Not keen on sending further afield I am afraid.
