I have experience with both EBB and sliders and have to say I prefer the EBB. The Phil Wood in my Singular was simple and effective, none of the creaking issues I have read about other offerings. The sliders on my Voodoo are a lot more fiddly, notably centering the rear wheel in both sets of stays. But hey, once it's set I just ride .....
FWIW the 2011 Salsa frames are nice too, good colours (check out the bomb pop blue) and affordable. This is the new Ala Carte and Mariachi rear end:
