A shed tidy up found these .
Simplex grand tourime rear gear and a Simplex juy 56 front changer.
According to the Evian catalogue of the time the front changer can hand 24 tooth capacity . Not sure what the rear ones capacity is ?
I have a old F W Evans frame from this period with the correct braze ons for the rear mech.
I also have the long spring required for the rear as well.plus a later set of double metal levers from the 1960's.

Has any one here fitted used this type set up . Any pointers would be great. Anyone any idea of the rear mechs capacity and how many sprockets it can handle ? Thanks in advance

Re:

have you seen the documents on Disraeli Gears?
a quick check suggests there is little difference with the 1st and 2nd style
apart from the part 853 being replaced by part 900.

1st style
2nd style

see if there are any other changes.
Then you need to see which chain width/speed variation you have (5 possibles)

this might be useful

Re:

Thank you for the link Big Block . I will have another good look at the rear mech to see if I can tell how many sprockets it can handle. If Iam reading the manual right it will be 3,4 or 5 speed
