I thought £460 for a chromed, panto, SLX was ok. See how much an new equivalent would cost, you may be shocked.

SLX is now an outdated tubeset. Columbus use Spirit, Zona and Life mostly now for lightweight steel frames; these are advanced multi-shaped tubesets. Slx was round tubes with internal spirals and developed in the early-mid 1980's i believe. But these Spirit & Life frames are costing over a £1000 new and more for a custom (usually with a carbon fork).

You can still get used SLX frames for as little as £100 on ebay, but probably not as detailed as this.
