It would definitely take a 2.5 but I think 3.0 might be too big. It did cross my mind though...

Would that sort of size be big enough for beach use do you think?

The front, yes. The back I'm not so sure about. Definitely not as it is now anyway, 2.5 with a low pressure maybe, but these won't take mega low pressures like a fat bike tyre.

Your 'beach' comment reminded me of it because I saw one being ridden along the 'beach' that appears in front of the South Bank of the Thames at low tide
