Shimano replaces three low end groupsets with one new one..

Look like it really just the mech and chainset, the rest is borrowed unbranded stuff from elsewhere looking at the codes and lack of branding on them.

Still not a cheap rear mech though. The bit that will have the bike dropped on and scrapped by the kids.

I also thought an 8 speed 1x drivetrain would be great for kids bikes, but the cranks at the moment only come in 170 and 175mm, not the much better 150 and 160mm for kids legs.

This gruppo is mostly focused on the entry level market that insists in getting a 1x like their pro friends, and the new fad of "look at my sweet conversion of this vintage MTB", which is basically moving to 1x and mounting modern handlebars
