Right...here we have a genuinely rare thing these days: (and anyone wanting a matching rim to make a full wheel set - see below...)
REAR OEM FIR Impes gold anodised rim as fitted to early 90’s Clockworks, C16Rs and P7s.
The good bits:
- eyeletted
- very low wear on brake surfaces
- runs completely true
- no dings at all
- bearings perfect and run extremely smoothly
- rubber axle shroud intact with no cracking or splits
- even tension right around wheel
- logo intact and no lifting
- no corrosion or scratches
- 7/8/9 speed HG free hub
The bad bits:
- Absolutely none. 10/10 would be NOS; this is slightly used so 9/10.
Anyone with an Orange habit will know these rims. Stronger than equivalent Ambrosio or Mavic. Ten years ago, difficult to find, and very rare in this condition. Now ...Uber rare.
I can’t even get a fix on price since there are none around. I’ve found single FIR rims, just the rim, at 80:00...gulp.
What I do know is that my new rear wheels cost a few hundred each time we need one.
So....
75:00 plus postage.
People who buy wheels from me (the Mavic Dakar, the Ritchey sets) know that I strive to describe things extremely accurately.
PM for dibs.
Thanks
