This is what I spent my Saturday doing, and then spent this morning throughly testing.... I know it doesn't look like much but I love it! Spec is:
Frame: Nov 1995 (?) Orange P7
Fork: Pace RC36
Headset: Chris King
Stem: Orange SK9
Handlebar: Orange Supercross
Brakes: XTR M950 (front)
DX M600 (Rear)
Brake Levers: DX M601
Shifters: M750
Front Derailleur: Random - Alivio??
Rear Derailleur: M750
Cranks: M739
Pedals: DMR V12
Hub Skewers: Kore
Rims: Mavic X517
Hubs: M950
Scruffy by name, scruffy by nature! Bike has been around for years but mostly used on the road. This weekend I realised I needed to sort my bikes out so rebuilt this one with the stuff I had in the shed in order to get it running again.
I know it's a shameful mix of new and old but it really is such a blast to ride. Been so long since I've ridden it off-road in anger and forgot how amusing it is, and how v-brakes aren't quite the same as discs... Wasn't my quickest ever thrash but apparently you could hear my manic laughter for quite a while.
Apologies to the purists - and gutted that the red DX calipers won't fit on the RC-36's (hence the XTRs) but it really does fly!
