What happened to your boiler ? I might be able to help. I just serviced my own 20 yr old boiler and used to be a heating engineer in a former life
Thanks for the support, the heat exchanger on the boiler has rusted through from the inside and started leaking water all over the electronics so it's pretty terminal. To save fannying around trying to find a plumber to do the job this side of Xmas went straight to British Gas. They can install a new one Monday and do a few other jobs to update the whole system in time for Xmas. Not the cheapest option but the quickest, at least you have some sort of guarantee and can get hold of them quickly if something goes wrong.
