although if the perbecks is a bit far from Weymouth I remember the hills around abbotsbury having some nice trails, a few years back mind

Found some! Fun routes in & around the forestry commission land in West Dorset..
Best search for Champernhayes Lane or Laurel Covert in Dorset & there's a few good hours of slow but technical dual track & single track riding in the woods.
Maybe it's not for you if you like fast, following trail-centre riding, but if you like to get off the beaten track it's great!
