Ritchey P21

Looks fantastic Chris!

Well done!

Is this the same frame that Scant was selling a while back?

If so - kudos on the repair work!

Where did you get the decals from?

(gets note book at the ready...)

thanks,

yes frame and forks came from Scant .

Got the decals direct from Ritchey . sent them an email ( adress on web site ) and had a reply within an hour and 5 days later decals arrived . she said they were their last set of P21 though .

Wow, cant say anything else.
Ritchey's are the bikes I like most of all (unfortunatley havent found myself a big enough one).
And this rebuild is just that nice :D

Chris, did you replace the entire chain stays then or simply 'patch' them up?

Maybe a stupid question, but from the pictures I remember they were rusted right the way through on the underside?

Bloody tremendous effort though when you imagine the state it was in originally!

Well done again!

it was like that :

frame builder filled the hole with brazing :

it cost me a fiver .

speaking to the guy at colour tech , he said the repair would hold nicely , and that it was a very common issue , where water stays there when there are no holes to get water out at that place . he sees a lot of frames like that and best way to repair is to fill the holes with brazing .

Wow.

Wondered have imagined it was that simple!

Great result. Time to start trawling the classifieds for rusted wrecks!!

Superbe boulot Chris !
Il revient de loin !
Tu vas attirer les jalousies !

(Sorry, for not speaking english    ;) )

Excellent restoration mate. Congratulations! Can you put up the before pics too as well as I can only vaguely remember how bad the chain stay was (if my memory serves).
