RetroRonde: Who's going?

I intent to go to Oudenaarde on Sunday with my oldest bike and a copy of the great Irish man - It's from end of 80s, so I hope they will let me take part - What's your opinion about my intention to ride with such a bike - it's nearly full French
only saddle and tires are Italian (I have 19 mm Wolbers tubulars too, but they are no puncture prevention and so rare)

Good Luck at Sunday's Retro Ronde Vlaanderen

No problem at all with your bike... it is a friendly and inclusive event rather than a snob and exclusive... nobody is going to complain about your hidden brake cables...

Nice bike BTW

The bikes are back on the car rack. Tested and approved. :D

We'll be leaving for Oudenaarde tomorrow morning.

What a great weekend it was!I spotted the "illegal"Vitus -nice!Went with Koga Miyata with partner on Vitus 979.Think the weather was uncharacteristically good for Belgium so 20 tyres were ok!
Wonder how forthcoming L Eroica Britannia will compare - it has a lot to live up to!

It was great. Again. Plus shape and material much better than last year. Looking forward to next year.

This thread wouldn't be complete with some pictures. So here goes ...

Re:

Had a cracking day out at the Retro Ronde. One of the best editions I've ridden so far. Me and a friend both went on pre-WW2 bikes with single speed.

I used the following picture of Achiel Buysse to try and get my kit roughly correct for pre-war. Buysse was the first person to win the Ronde Van Vlaanderen 3 times, before the war.

This was one of the pictures taken by the photographers during the ride:

:D

I ditched the helmet not long after. Bloody sweaty in there, it was.

I read that the poor fellow who had the bloody crash came away with a double fracture of the skull - is now out of intensive so hopefully the worst is over.
