Resident wheel builder?

Hmm, do we have anyone who is the forums resident wheel builder? I've got some rims which are pretty much fine (I think). Hubs are old/shot and the cones are badly worn.

I'd like new hubs lacing to the rims. LBS wants...£180 to do this inc parts. Considering I can get the XT hubs for £60ish and spokes for £20. That makes the LBS a rather silly option although he's a world class wheel builder apparently.

Anyways, can anyone help? :)

It really isn't that hard to do yourself, if you're patient.

Everyone who is interested in bikes should be able to build a wheel. If you do, it means you'll never be dependent on a bike shop ever again.

I'll second that. Give it a try.

Wait a second I'm trying to eat here. You'll never do it yourself, it's a black art..........woooooooooooh (insert scary ghost noise)......
