Rear mech threads.

I have a rear 6800 11 speed Ultegra mech. The barrel adjuster won't stay in place because the threads in the body are worn away. This means adjustment for indexing etc is nigh on impossible.
Both myself and LBS have played around trying to recut the threads but it seems the top half of the threads no longer exists.
So either the mech is fubar or there is some way to fix it.
Does anyone know how to fix something like this. IIRC it is 5mm diameter.
Or is it bin time?

And the threads to thread into are what are worn away.

The inline adjuster LGF posted goes in the outer cable, not at the rear mech. So no adjustment needed at the rear mech .

Yes, simple but only work well if there is enough wall thickness and depth left in the parent material.

Looks to me as if there is more than enough meat around the adjuster threads to take a helicoil, it's certainly something I'd try.
