Having owed this beauty for 10 years, it's time...prompted by the fact that I'm too fat to be seen out on it!

So I acquired it as an ex-pro frame (story here viewtopic.php?f=12&t=78844) and against all forum advice, stripped it and resprayed it white/red reflecting its Danish heritage...

It is a very fast ride, better than any of the four Cannondales I've had!

Spec as follows:

Principia Rex Pro 54cm frame
55cm top tube
Mizuno carbon fork
Principia headset (no play)

Mostly Dura Ace 7700 components (all bought NOS)
- Crank 53/39
- Rear mech 9 speed
- 11-21 cassette
- Brakes front/rear
- Brake cables
- Gear levers

Front mech: Shimano 105

Seat pin: ITM Millennium
Saddle: Selle Italia flite, custom covered in red leather

Stem: ITM Millenium 110mm

Profile airwave integrated tri-bars
Cinelli cork bar tape

Brake levers: Dia Compe 188

Wheels: Planet X super light, flat spokes
- 20 front
- 24 rear
Continental Gatorskin tyres

Ti crank pullers

Red alloy bottle bolts

Frame was resprayed and lacquered by Condor.

Judging by other similar bikes sold here, I'm looking for £1,600. Bike's in South Herts and I'd be helpful with respect to getting it somewhere else...

Can you provide any links to these similar bikes that sold here for that amount? I'm struggling to see £1600 worth of value. A quick look through the sold listings on Ebay for Principia shows that for complete bikes very few fetch even close to £500 let alone £1600.

Re:

I was judging them against other quality, millennial bikes. Not the pap they make now. If consensus has it that I’m wrong, I’ll move my price!

Are you interested?

Re:

It’s also been ridden in the Tour de France, which won’t make you ride it any faster, but it always put a tingle down my spine...

Re:

Damn! You’re right...and I read the Deering book.

Have change the title. Thanks for keeping me honest.

Re:

I ride a 2003 Principia Rex E and it’s a stunning ride. Linda McCartney had nothing to do with mine but I am keen on a vegetarian sausage from time to time. GLWTS.

I think split and sold separately you could get approx £650 for the lot. I'm sure you paid a lot more!
