I've had a couple of the 531 frames and I imagine the 501 version rides pretty similarly. Good frames in my opinion, and the inexternal welding gives them a very clean look (all joints except the seat stays on this as it's a couple of years older).

501 but it's more than likely single butted.

Not far from me so I'll take a punt on it me thinks.

Looks about right for me at 5 feet 8.
 
I've actually just picked one of these up too. Pretty much exactly the same spec with the Deore group instead of the catalogue spec. Mine does appear to have had a replacement wheelset at some point though, the hubs are "Diablo". Fairly weighty beast but rides great for a commuter.

EDIT: I thought it was 87 too according to the catalogues but MOMBAT says Deore didn't come out until 88?
