In the mahoosive clear out which I have started I found more Judy spares, some on them rather tasty - munch munch yum. I’ve tried to price them really reasonably, but shout if it’s wrong.

Firstly more springs. I previously found loads of type 3 springs (two in each leg) but I now have tracked down two lots (four in total) of springs for type 1 and 2 - the gold ones - which need one long spring only in each leg. And some soft 100mm single springs. One lot of springs are SpeedSprings, the other oem RS. All are medium. These are great for replacing elastomers which have gone to dust.
Springs 25.00 gbp for two plus p&p. I’ve seen them for a great deal more.

RED AND BLUE SPRINGS SOLD NOW
100 mm and T3 springs in soft and x soft still available

Two perfect top caps...alloy knobs, slightly faded but perfect threads and none of the graunching from pliers which most have. I’ve seen these for silly amounts of money (30.00 for one). Asking 15.00 for one plus postage.

Two crowns. One 1inch and the other 1 and eighth. Only a photo of the one inch since I need to go to the store to hook out the bigger steerer. All threads perfect. 25.00 gbp plus postage.

ONE AND EIGHTH STEERER NOW SOLD
One inch still available

One perfect leg. No wear at all, no scratches etc. These are getting like hens teeth in this as new condition. 25.00 gbp plus postage.

One very corroded leg from a different fork. The good things about this is that the reason for the corrosion was a friend ran the fork with a broken boot and it had water sloshing around in the bottom, causing the corrosion. Meanwhile the top had done almost no miles, so all the corrosion is in a place which doesn’t show and doesn’t matter, since it comes no where near the seals. 10.00 or karma if you buy other bits.

A bag of the little black connectors which you can’t get anymore, if you manage to get replacement elastomers. karma...just postage.

Damper cartridge - excellent shaft, seals hard so am waiting for new ones just bought, so will be fully serviced. Bottom threads perfect. These are getting extremely hard to find in anything other than dead or dying condition. 35.00 gbp plus postage.

Passive shaft assembly - all parts excellent. Bottom threads as new. 10.00 gbp plus postage

Three boots/bellows - new - excellent, supple, unfaded since stored in cool and dark. 10.00 each plus postage.

Dibs via PM - thanks

Interested in damper cartridge, can you send me pics so I can compare to the one in the Mrs’s bikes Judy?

With thanks, Tim

Hey dude, quick question... i've got a couple of sets of 1997 Judy SLs, which at present are serviced with fresh oil but still run the 23 year old elastomers, which I imagine will turn to dust soon... will any of your spring sets work in my forks, i.e do you replace the entire spring/elastomer assembly with just springs? Also do you think they'll suit my portly 14 stones? Cheers buddy :)

Here are pics of cartridge - I am waiting for the RS 5604 end seals x 2 - the cartridge was working really well but weeping a little due to the age hardening of the seals. The lines in the photos on the shaft are just light reflections.

Tomas - yes the springs completely replace the elastomers stack. You can run a mix of spring in one leg and elastomers in the other. Or two springs - one in each leg of course. The ones I have are medium and the speed springs (blue) are a tiny bit stiffer. There’s a chart somewhere on t’web which says whether they would be ok for your weight. I will root it out.

Here it is - two med springs good up to 195 lbs.

Many thanks, just need to check this is the right one, cheers.

Re:

So I bought these last year off of ebay (type 3 Firm I believe from packaging) but as you see from pics below these don't seem right at all.... too long, these are for '97 Judy SLs... do I need type 2? If so i'll take some type 2's, sorry if im getting a bit confused.... also if you see the attached instructions describe them as for '98 Judys... I did try fit them in but the pring wouldn't seat correctly on the plastic bits and they popped out waay too high for me to wind the topcap on...
