Late model (2000/2001) Scwhinn 4 Banger Frame
17 inch
The frame is in amazing condition, with a couple of tiny stone chips/marks (which I will picture later). Out of 10, I'd give it an easy 9
Note that this is the later version of the frame, which had the strengthened rear dropouts, different bottom pivot configuration and IS Disc mount (not the 22mm mounts as found on previous versions). Many people regard this as the 'best' version of the frame, although they were all good
It has a Lawwill-designed rear end with a massive carbon swingarm giving 4" (100mm) travel via a Rockshox Deluxe rear shock (preload and rebound adjustment). One of the many brilliant things about these frames is that the bottom bracket height/head angle can be altered simply by adjusting the height of the top shock mount. The rear shock has a trunnion mount at the top, which makes this possible
The rear travel can also be increased to just under 6" simply by fitting a compatible shock with a 2" stroke (as many have done).
Suitable for a 4-5" travel fork. I'm currently running it with a set of Maverick SC32s (5" travel) and I think you'll agree from the pictures below that it looks lovely
This is a truly versatile FS frame which can be run either as a lightweight XC FS Machine or a do-anything, short travel Hooligan (my current build!). They don't come up for sale very often, especially not in this sort of condition and it really does turn heads when out and about.
Frame will come with:
- FSA Orbit 2 Headset
- TITEC X Wing Seatpost ( 26.8 )
- TITEC Ithys Saddle (titanium rails)
- Seat Clamp
The frame is also Datatagged.
I'm going to go for something a bit more modern and with a bit more travel next as I find myself being drawn towards doing some gravity enduros
