Old Jersey

I've seen a few old jerseys that have the initial G.C. on them along with the name of a club. Anyone explain what G.C. stands for ?

Well-Felsina is a wine and GC can mean …many things!Grande Cuvée ( on the wine theme) or general classification in road cycle racing. So I think the GC means general classification on cycle jerseys generally and was a play on words re this this Cambridge jersey .

Well, these jerseys are all from Italy and G.C. precludes some others with differing script. I was thinking it was an Italian phrase related to Cycle Club, but google translate does not help me !!

Most likely Gruppo Ciclo or Gruppo Ciclistico. Lit: Group Cycle or Group Cycling. So yes, Cycle Club would be the best English version.

Here is another Italian shirt (circa ''60s-70s, wool) that uses different initials: "U.S."
I knew about "GC", but I still do not know what "U.S." stands for in Italian.

Love the Italian jerseys from this era. As an old Mod, they really hit a note. Look forward to discovering what the initials relate to on your lovely jersey. I have this one on it's way to me. I've found the club associated with the Jersey in Italy. They are a family run Bike shop trading for over 50 years. https://www.ciclirossi.it/storia/
