Retro Newbie
Evening Retrobikers,

I'm looking to sell my fully restored Offroad Proflex 853 - 1993 model - and wanted an idea of it's value from the experts!
Could you cast your eyes over the pics attached. Apologies for the quality of the images - my camera is crap indoors. I'll take some fresh ones in the morning if the sun's out. My original post on here can be viewed at: viewtopic.php?t=332922
(This has some better pics, although the bike wasn't quite finished then)

Specification highlights:
Offroad Proflex 853 (1993)
Full suspension 18" frame
Original Deore XT brakes calipers (lovely!) and rear derailleur
Deore DX front derailleur
Original Mavic SUP rims
Rockshock Indy SL front forks
Resprayed in Ford Monza electric blue and gloss black
Rear elastomer replaced with spring unit
Look gel saddle
Brand new Shimano chain, front chainset and rear sprocket (literally never used!)
Brand new HORRENDOUS blue tyres. Sorry, I don't know WHAT I was thinking that day...

Any advice for an asking price much appreciated.

Thanks!

Lee

Re:

You've doe a nice job, but it's no longer original so to purists it is worth less.

As a full bike probably £150 but in parts more, so strip it if you want to recover some of your money. However you're unlikely to get back what you invested though which is the sad case of retrobikes, (it's more about our passion) keep it and ride it!

I'm also doing up an 853 too, although keeping it red! If you're after any Proflex's let me know! Cheers

Re:

Tragic isn't it!

Even if you drive the hardest of bargains you'll still probably lose money in this game.

£80 max, if you are very lucky.

The new owner would then very quickly undo your work. That rear end has now damping whatsoever and would not be any good out on the trails.
