merlin titanium MTB, fox, hope etc

Retro Newbie
Hi,

I was a massive MTB'er for many many years. I haven't ridden a bike in about 3 years though. Just into other hobbies these days.

Planning to do the previously considered 'unthinkable' and sell my bike. Because it's got some 15+ years of memories in it, I wouldn't sell it unless it makes good money. I have only a vague idea of current value, so if I'm inaccurate please let me know. I would then potentially decide to keep it instead.

General Specs:
Merlin Taiga Ti frame - 18". Obviously great condition.
Fox forks F80x
Hope stem, Hope hub
Hope mono front disc (V rear).
Easton seatpost
XT chainset

I believe approx. £750 is reasonable. Is this about right?

I also have a fluid turbo (on which the bike is forlornly sat) which is surplus to requirement.

Pictures can follow.

Hi,
No it's not me. That's where I got the approx. price from though - there's one there now.
The bloke on there doesn't seem to have such nice bits on his though.

Re:

Price seems good......Pictures sell it though :D

PM me if you are having trouble loading them up

Hi, will give it a clean up first. It's been garaged for a while. TBH I should probably take it to a bike shop and pay them a little for a quick spruce up.

What ....and ruin all the fun a potential buyer on here would have doing that themselves! :D Give it a wipe over with a damp cloth and get the pics up :D :D

lol. That takes me back. I used to love getting covered in grease and maintaining it. Almost as much as riding it. The thought now though almost puts me off selling it :)

Yeah don't be confused with other bike forums....there are only 3 members on here that actually know how to ride a bike :D :D

well.
I gave it to a mechanic for a clean up, and before I knew it he had spent £71 making it like new. Really like new. Ready-to-ride.
I have such mixed feelings now, it looks gorgeous. I am going to leave it up here for 10 days max, and if it doesn't sell have a real, hard think about whether I want to sell it. It's still my idea of exactly what a bike should be - light as a feather, but with quality frame and parts that can take anything.

Let me know if the links don't work for others . . they do for me.

The price is absolutely firm. I'm wavering enough as it is.
