mavic race/sprint cleats

hi,

i have a pair of mavic race sl pedals,
nicele made, titanium axels, in good condition.

sadly the cleats for these - duracleats are no longer available.

look keo cleats nearly fit, but not quite.

anyone tried to fettle keo cleats to fit the pedals, or, fettle the pedals to fit the cleats?

i think it should be doable but i am interested if anyone has already tried this.

i dont have one but i doubt it honestly,
i believe deltas are bigger (longer) than keos.

photo below stolen from the net (sorry) compares a keo cleat to a mavic duracleat one.

the biggest difference i can see is the step at the rear of the cleat, wher the hook attaches is thicker on keos - by about 2mm.

i think i could just file down the hook on the pedal by a similar amount and keo cleats would fit but i am still interested to hear other opinions.

alternatively if anyone has a source of cleats i would love to hear… 😀

well, i tried it, relieving the inner face of the hook to allow the thicker look cleats to fit in the pedals.

works a treat, pedals run well and though thry are not as light as look titanium pedals the titanium mavics have alloy rather than carbon bodies, they are pretty light.

very shiny too
