m952 crank bolts and washer

Yeah it's a usa site so shipping might be a bit!

Part no helps but a Google search draws a blank

My options are a different set of bolts with a washer or...

Back to my original question..

What function to they perform
Can I run without them?
if I don't have them will they damage my crank arm?

Looking at the pic I would guess the washer will ~double the contact area of the bolt with the crank.
