Lest we forget

Over here every town and village does something, our local village usually has an event that lasts all day, the names of the dead are read at 9am 12am and 6pm with a big communal meal in the village centre in the evening. If the 11th falls on a weekday it's considered a national holiday. Be good if that happened at home really....

I am amazed at how little attention is paid.

Google just a tiny poppy.

BBC nothing but a link to a news item.

Amazon nothing.

Gov.UK nothing

Apple UK NOTHING

Seems you can pay no tax to your market and match that sentiment with no acknowledgement for those that left you free to develop your business.

Harrumph!

I had a fantastic morning in London yesterday.
I attended the service at the Bomber Command Memorial at 9am, then wandered across to Westminster for the main service at 11.
The memorial in Green Park is amazing. One of the most moving pleces I've visited.
I took lots of pics, and here are a few of them...

That last cross will always sum up for me the complete futility of it all.
19 years old. All crew lost on first mission.
What a waste of life!
